At 8 months old Elliott weighs just over 21 lbs, wears size 3 diapers, and size 12-18 month clothes. Right around turning 8 months he cut his first tooth (bottom center) and this week he's cut his second tooth right next to the first one. A few weeks ago he graduated out of the infant carrier and into a big boy convertible car seat. He was getting too long and heavy for that thing.
Elliott is still nursing but has backed off a little during the day because he's very easily distracted. He also loves solids and is starting to prefer that. He pretty much likes all fruits and veggies. He doesn't like his food runny so I end up adding baby oatmeal flakes to a lot of his food to thicken it up. He enjoys holding big pieces of food (whole green beans, a hunk of cantaloupe, or a chunk of bagel) and then slobbering it down to a consistency he can eat. We just discovered that he loves yogurt and hates egg yolks. Elliott still nurses 1-2 times during the night when it's dark, he's tired, and there are no distractions.
Little man is doing pretty his best ever with sleep. Nights are usually 7pm to 7 or 8 am, waking twice, just long enough to eat, get a new diaper if needed, and fall back asleep. Elliott is taking 2 naps but they aren't great. Usually no longer than 1 hour. I haven't stopped our life as much for his naps like I did with the other 2 so he doesn't have as consistent of a nap schedule. On the plus side though, he falls asleep pretty easily. He loves his binky and taggie blanket up by his face when he's tired.
E sits up like a pro and reaches around for toys. He can scoot backward if he's on his stomach, but doesn't really like being on his stomach. He isn't crawling, but can pull his knees up under himself. E loves to stand and walk around the room with you holding his hands. E still LOVES mama to hold him and wants to be with me at all times. (This leaves my arms THROBBING at the end of the day) E is clapping up a storm and saying "da-da" all day long. He's stopped saying "ma-ma" (go figure).
Elliott loves Xavier and X plays with him pretty well for the most part. Wes is a little rough sometimes and recently finds joy in making E cry by yelling in his face (not cool!) but he can also be sweet and give E lots of hugs. The boys can make E laugh a lot when they are running around wild.
We love you E Baby!!!
