I love this pic. I know I'm biased, but he's just soooo cute!

Road Trip
As mentioned......
My mom and I took the boys to Atlanta last week to visit Auntie Donna, Uncle Chuck, Uncle Cuzzie, and of course "Tallulah Puppy" (my aunt's dog).
This was the first time the boys had been on a car ride longer than about 2 1/2 hours. They did AMAZING on the 10 hour drive, going there and coming home. We drove overnight and that was definitely the way to go. I ended up being really tired, but it was a small price to pay for sanity. We packed the car with DVDs, books on tape, snacks, and kids in pjs with blankets. They watched, they ate, they slept, and everyone enjoyed the ride.
Once in ATL I was terrible about taking pictures. I know my aunt took a bunch so hopefully I can get some of those from her. I was too busy keeping Wesley from trying to kill himself as he explored the vastness of an un-childproofed home. He loved it! And I think he only broke one thing while we were there. He pulled the toilet paper holder out of the drywall (yeah, he's crazy strong I guess) while I was in the shower one morning.
The weather was fantastic and I had brought the boys' bikes so they rode those around the neighborhood several days. The boys swam in the hot tub (or "little swimming pool" as we called it). They spent hours chasing the dog around the house (poor pup!) We also found a great playground at a park just a mile down the road. We took the boys to the ATL Children's museum too. Xavier loved it there last time we visited and I was sure that Wes would enjoy it as well. It's so hands on! That's the only place I really took pictures (which is the place with the worst lighting for pictures!)
Thanks for the fun visit Aunt Donna and Uncle Chuck! We had a great time and we miss you!

Easter Bubbles and 30 Weeks
We had a great Easter weekend. Saturday morning Xavier and I dyed eggs. He really enjoyed seeing the eggs turn different colors. After they were dry Wes helped us put stickers on the eggs.
That afternoon Walter and I served at church during the afternoon Easter services. Then we were able to go out to dinner BY OURSELVES thanks to Gma Debbie babysitting. We sat at the restaurant trying to figure out when the last time we had dinner out just the two of us. We had no idea - it's been that long!
Easter morning we hung at the house. The boys wore their new matching jibs from Aunt Donna. My kids didn't have "Easter Outfits" but I think "Easter Jibbies" are more appropriate seeing as pajamas are their favorite thing to wear! Gma Tina and "Shampoo" had breakfast with us and we opened Easter baskets.
The Easter bunny brought the boys a bubble machine too. X was eager to have daddy put in the batteries so we could try it out.
And it was awesome! The boys LOVED it!
We all took an afternoon nap (sooo nice!) then went to my parents house for a spaghetti dinner.
Today also marks the 30 Week point for me and Baby #3.
I passed my glucose test 2 weeks ago so that is good news. This week I start having dr. appointments every 2 weeks instead of monthly.
I'm at the point where I feel like an elephant and I am already running out of maternity clothes. This time around I'm just much more ready to be finished with the pregnancy part. I think it's because I have 2 small kids to take care of and I'm uncomfortable. I keep thinking how much easier it would be to to do the everyday things with the boys (baths, loading them in the car, getting up and down off the floor all day) if I was at my normal weight. At least I am sleeping pretty good at night right now and still able to take naps.
Baby #3 is moving all over as I write this. He/she moves around the most during the late evening. I've been thinking more and more about what this baby will look like. I can't wait to be able to study his/her features and compare them to how the boys looked when they were infants.
I want to start to get things ready for the baby like washing clothes, but I don't have anywhere to go with them since the "nursery" is Wes' room right now. It's going to be a little challenging at first to figure out where to go with all everyone's stuff as I move the kids' rooms around.

5 Hour Nap
Xavier, Wesley, and I all took a 5 hour nap today. It was wonderful!
Wondering why so long??? We were worn out from "road-trippin".
More details to come......

Today I am Thankful For....
It's only 1pm, but I've been awake since 4am so it's been a 9 hour day for me already! After everyone being sick last week and our recent challenges with X, I thought I should just count my blessings today.
I'm thankful that I got to take a shower and get dressed by myself this morning (if you can't sleep you might as well take a shower) before the boys got up.
I'm thankful there were leftover pancakes in the fridge which made for a quick and yummy breakfast!
I'm thankful we had a MOPS meeting today and that meant we would all be occupied for the morning. AND, we were ready to go on time (even a few minutes early!)
I'm thankful that Xavier cooperated nicely getting dressed. (very rare occurrence these days)
I'm thankful that Wesley was so excited about holding a plastic bubble stick in the car that he didn't fight being buckled in (he usually just wants to come out and play).
I am thankful for my dishwasher that will simultaneously clean my dishes and provide some white noise for me to take a much needed nap on the couch while the boys sleep.
I'm MOST thankful to have heard my 3 year old say "MAY I.....PLEASE" not once, but twice this morning, completely unprompted. Oh how I needed that today to provide me a glimmer of hope that my sweet little boy is still inside that body despite his recent behavior challenges. (I'm actually sitting here crying just thinking about those kind words being spoken - that will tell you how much these behavior issues have been weighing on me - and I'm NOT a cryer).
It's the little things that matter to me today :)

Happy Birthday Babe!
We've been sick here all week, but I wanted to give a quick shout out to my awesome husband on his birthday.
Happy Birthday Walter! I love you lots. You are the greatest husband and best dad to our kids that I could ever ask for.

Hidden
Lately my kiddos are getting more picky about eating veggies. That's not good. Xavier only has a few veggies he will eat. He literally made himself throw up when I tried to get him to eat peas recently. And Wes now thinks he doesn't really need veggies at all. Oy!
So I checked out the Deceptively Delicious cookbook at the library. It's basically all about how to hide veggies (in the form of purees) in your kid's food. I'm still serving them the veggies in regular form and hoping they will come to like them again. But.....at least this way I know they are getting something during this picky stage.
A few of our recent favorites:
- Cauliflower in scrambled eggs
- Butternut Squash in spaghetti sauce
- Pumpkin in pancakes (i also add flax seed and cinnamon to the pancakes -- sooooo yummy!)
- Carrot in applesauce muffins
I still have more recipes from the book that I want to try. This is a good start though.
I've always struggled getting X to eat carrots ever since he was little. I know many people have been successful by offering some kind of dip with the carrots. But, he had a hard time eating raw carrots because they are so tough. A friend gave me a tip: steam the carrots a little to make them semi - soft, then refrigerate, then serve them cold with a dip. I tried it last week. X ate a bunch of soft carrots with hummus (he's a hummus freak lately!) Wes just licked the hummus off the carrots and left the carrots on his tray. Little stinker!
If anyone else has any other veggie tricks I'm all ears!!!
(Andrea C. -- didn't you do something with spinach in berry popsicles for Win??)
