Staples

I never realize how much has gone on in life until I download the pictures from my camera. So it's time for another round of catch up.

Starting with the most significant event......

Xavier busted the back of his head open and had to get 4 staples put in it. WOW. I know. My baby got hurt :(

X was getting dressed for preschool and he and Wes were messing around. I was comforting Wes after his hand got slammed in the bedroom door. X started getting on Wes and I pulled him away from Wes. X then tripped and fell backward hitting his head on the bed frame. His head just split right open. He only cried a little and it didn't bleed that much. I took him to Urgent Care and they put 4 staples in it. He did AWESOME at urgent care. They didn't even numb it. He was as cool as a cucumber and totally cooperative. He did say "ouch, that hurts my head" by the 3rd staple, but then they were done. He watched Bob the Builder and ate a popsicle.

Xavier had the staples in for 6 days. He did really well with it, we just had to remind him to slow down a lot and he wasn't too thrilled when we said he couldn't jump on the neighbor's trampoline. It helped that the "injury" was in the back of his head. He couldn't see it and just forgot about it. We gave him Motrin for the first 36 hours and he wouldn't lay on the back of his head for the first couple of nights. After that it he was fine as long as you didn't try to touch the staples. He kept telling us "Don't touch my staples. They need to dry" He has a small scar but his hair covers it up.

In the waiting room at Urgent Care. He was so patient, just holding his security items.

The phone pic of X's head that I sent to Walter at work.

All fixed up.

Bob the Builder makes anything better.

When we were ready to go home X said to me "Are we going to preschool now?" That's what he was most upset about -- having to miss preschool that day. Sweet boy.

The next week Xavier did this to Wes' head with stickers. He told me "Wes has staples in his head".

I know with 3 boys I'm bound to end up in Urgent Care again, but I just hope it's not for a really long time.

There is STILL No Denying It...

My boys definitely look related. Remember this picture comparison?

Well, you know I had to do it again with Elliott! And even though he's a little chunkier and has a little less hair at this age, you can still see the family resemblance.

Elliott was such a good sport for his little photo shoot. He'd just gotten up from a nap so that always helps!

So here's Wesley and Xavier (wow, Wes has really fair skin!)

And here is Elliott and Xavier.

Hey, who's that kid??

I love my little triplets - ha!!

Changin it Up

I decided I was tired of the green and needed a spring look for the blog. I'm a free template blog design kinda gal and came upon this one. I like it!

Now I just need to take new pictures of Xavier and Wesley for the sidebar.

Happy Reading!

Daredevil

Wesley has no fear. Case in point......

If you can't tell, he's walked out to the middle of the railing on the INSIDE of the steps to the basement. That's a long way to fall. I'm starting to close the gate more (which I hate) just to keep him off of there. He calls it "doing my see saw" and thinks it's really funny. I do not agree!

No wonder I'm seeing more gray hairs lately.

Resurrection Eggs

This past week at my MOPS group we made a craft called "Resurrection Eggs". It is a wonderful thing for preschoolers to teach the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus in a fun and simple way. My kids LOVE these. When I first brought it home Xavier played with it for 2 hours straight. (And that pretty much never happens).

You start with an egg carton and put a piece of construction paper and paper with the family name on top of the carton. We added a couple stickers as well.

Inside are plastic eggs numbered 1-12.

Inside each egg is a small item that represents a portion of the Crucifixion story.

Then there is a sheet to tell you what each item means. It's a simple 1-2 sentence explanation that the kids can remember.

Here's what it says. In parentheses is the item used since you can't tell very well in the pictures.

1. The Leaf  (single silk leaf - any kind)- On palm Sunday, Jesus came into town riding a donkey. The people waved palm branches and shouted Hosanna!

2. Oyster Crackers (2 or 3) - On the night before Jesus was arrested he and his disciples had a special dinner. they broke and ate unleavened bread.

3. Flower (small single silk flower) - Jesus went to a special garden to pray with his disciples.

4. Coin (plastic token coin) - Judas told the soldiers where to find Jesus. they gave him 30 pieces of money.

5. Whip (piece of leather shoe lace) - The soldiers whipped Jesus.

6. Crown of Thorns (prickly ball from a tree) - They put a crown of thorns on Jesus' head.

7. Dice - Soldiers played a dice game to see who would win Jesus' clothes.

8. Nails (2-3 small) - They nailed Jesus to the cross.

9. Sponge - They offered Jesus water and vinegar on a sponge.

10. Linen Cloth (small piece of linen fabric) - They wrapped Jesus' body in linen clothes.

11. Rock - The soldiers rolled a huge rock in front of the tomb where Jesus body lay.

12. Empty Egg - On the morning of the third day the tomb was empty. Jesus rose again. HE LIVES!

Like I said, Xavier has loved this. Wesley loves it too, but we have to be really careful with him because he's a little rough with the eggs :)

More Cute Pictures of Elliott

It seems lately that most of the pictures I take are of Elliott. This is solely due to the fact that he can't move yet. X and Wes run away and never look at the camera. (But I do keep trying). So today I bring you Mr. Elliott.
He's an avid reader.....

and chair spinner.

He's loves the water....

and enjoys sucking on a frozen sweet potato.

And ladies, he's single!!!!
